Anyone know of any dirt jumps in the North West?
Looking for something for beginners i.e, tabletops and small gaps.
I know of the local bmx tracks and parks but I'm specifically looking for dirt trails.
Obviously, I'm not expecting to be told about secret trails which are probably too hard for what I'm looking for anyway. I figure anything at the level I'm after are probably pretty well known.
Cheers
There's some in Southport, on the coast road, the end towards preston, they are well used by the looks of them too ๐
Caz xx
Like in Torridon or Wester Ross?
delamere forest, near to the 4x track, has an assortment of various sized jumps.
or parts of lee quarry have good sized (and shaped) tables that i find are very easy to learn on, but they're not exactly dirt trails.
there's a bunch of them down by the side of the M60 in manchester, sort of behind chill factor/that golf place in trafford park too; never been there myself but you can usually see "the kids" riding there from the M60.
Ahh yes, I forgot about Delamere. Not been there for a while, defo worth a look, thanks.
I've ridden those at Lee Quarry and the only ones that looked any good just dont seem to flow for me i.e, jumps straight after a berm where is hard to maintain the speed. Agree the new run down to the entrance is a bit better.
Any more location details for those in Southport, Torridon and Wester Ross?
Keep em coming ๐
The southport one are definately not suitable for beginners! And the locals are non too friendly either...especially to the wrong sized wheels.
Best bet?Get a spot,get a spade,get digging.
It is difficult, trail builders don't like learners. They case landings, tear lips out and brake on the faces.Building and running a set of trails is a massive amount of work (It took me 5 months of grafting through the winter to build a decent size 6 pack only to see it get wrecked by numpties). Its understandable why people are so protective. You can't learn till you ride but you can't ride till you learn. Its just the way it is.
You've got loads of tracks be it pump or full sized around the nw,put some time in on those first. If people think yo're up to it you'll get invited to someones trails eventually.
