Just trying to setup a 1x11 XTR Di2 and having a few issues...

Just using the EW90A 3port junction, SM-BTR2 internal battery, the M9050 rear mech & a RH shifter, so running with no display.

Intially connected it up off the bike and all seemed to shift ok. Then fitted it to the bike and did the adj setup in 5th gear. Shifts were good but I couldnt get it shift into the highest gear (10t). Tried really loosening the end stop screws, which works for 42t but not 10t?

Then thought a firmaware update might help, so connected the bike to the shimano e-tube project app. This worked fine, worked out what I had on the bike and said all parts needed a firmware update. So did the update and now the e-tube project app is happy and all seemed fine. I disconneted the bike from the laptop and now nothing. Now the shifter has no effect and the junction unit wont go into adj mode! I disconnected everything and reconnected it - same, nothing! I have a spare SM-BTR2 battery so connected it and all seemed fine again, apart from it still wouldnt shift into thr 10t cog! Connected the bike back to the e-tube project app and again it said the battery firmware needed updating! Decided not to do this after what happened to the first battery!

Anyone got any ideas how to get it this setup working correctly and how to adj for the 10t cog? Also how dod you get the Junction unit to diplay battery condition as every time you press thebutton it juts goes into adj mode?

Cheers

You should do the firmware update on the other battery for sure.
Also where is the system information display I'm pretty certain you need to use this.
To get the battery to display charge you hold down one of the shift buttons

Spoken to several people who run without the display so shouldnt be an issue running without it, as battery info is supplied as you say by the junction LEDs and holding a lever.

Chatting to shimano seems like there might be an issue flashing new firmware to all units, as actually the battery hasnt flashed correctly - even though it thinks it has and seems fine in the E-tube app! Seems like a common problem. Might need a SMPCE-1 programmer or sending to shimano..

I had mine set up like that, could never get it to work properly in all gears smoothly, tried the display and reset it up, was the same

The shift to 5th to adjust was a pain I used to have no adjustment one way and loads the other

Removed it and sold it

The 5th gear setup seemd to work ok, just couldnt get the 10th cog and then the firmware update issue, so nothing works now!

The battery thing was an issue I read about when I did mine. Some issues around updating anything with the battery plugged in. Did mine with just the battery plugged straight into the ew90 and then did the firmware update to the rest without the battery plugged in and then assemble it all together and it worked. Not shifting to the 10t I'm not so sure about. On the road stuff the mechs define whether is 10 or 11 speed and not sure if the. Mtb stuff is the same but might be worth a check in the etube app
