Besides the labeling on the resevoir cap & other cosmetic differences is there any real difference between Deore m525 & Deore XT hydraulic brake levers? I've looked at the shimano website & although the part numbers are different there doesn't seem much difference otherwise.
you talking about the old style levers or the new ones?
Old ones, no difference, exactly the same...
Current XT have servo wave actuation, reach adjustment and bite point adjustment. The Deores only have reach adjustment.
Sorry it was the old style levers before servo action that I was interested in. Thanks
dickyboy, you having/putting a set of brakes put together?
The old style XTR calipers are peanuts, and still a great brake...
Here is the blow up diagram of the XT's:
Tinsy yes just up grading my old XC bike for my son to do Mountain Mayhem on, got some duff LX dual control levers with good calipers off ebay & now have some levers too which I bought as XT but are infact Deore. So long as they are much the same then I'm not fussed.
Could of let my son attempt MM on his Kona Shred, but don't think that would have been very fair..... Thanks
