I'm going to be staying in Daventry later this week and will have the bike with me.

I dont want to travel so looking to ride locally.

Is there anything other the reservoir to cycle ?

Without travelling id say your options are limited at best. Much more suited to road bikes around there but im sure if you pop into leisurely lakes then one of the guys will be able to help.

There used to be some riding around Badby Woods which isn’t far away, albeit I’ve not been there for a long time. There may also be some around Borough Hill but I suspect it’s both limited and “cheeky”.

Badby woods now pretty much off limits.

Round the top of Borough Hill as lunge says is limited but allowed. The Friday Night XC series run a race around there.

You can link the bridleways together to make a decent route but it's never going to be that exciting, but some nice enough countryside.

Some fun trails (again limited) in Harlestone Forest just outside Northampton.

I'm sure I can dig some GPS routes out if you want (email in profile)

Lived there for 30+ years and managed to escape last year 🙂

If you don't mind a short drive, the RLSCC group head out on a Thursday from Leamington, 16ish miles, leaving giant store in Leamington at 18.45

I spent plenty of time looking back in my childhood (my grandparents lived there), but never found any more than a few unexciting bridleways.

Used to live in Northampton 20 years ago and went cycling with a group from Daventry a few times . We did a couple of rides to a place called Burton Dasset  which involved a bit of road riding but was good fun when we got there . Possibly spelt slightly wrong .

You can string a few bridleways together on the south side of Daventry with a bit imagination.  You have to be good at muddy rides though.  We used to get 20 -30 mile mixed routes done when we lived near Morton Pinkney.

Cheers guys.

Think there might be a change of plans and just use the gym at the hotel.
