swissstop green or kool stop salmon, I use the latter but only because they're a bit cheaper and seem as good as the swisstops

From experience, they all wear a lot in wet weather, some more than others. Fibrax were really bad for heavy wear, but they were very cheap, Swissstop were a lot better but not enough for the cost.

Currently using stock Shimano pads (R55C3), get them from Germany, and there are a third the price of Swissstop, and just as good performance.

Koolstop Salmon are often recommended, yet to try them myself.

I use the Swisstop Green and the Kool Stop Salmons, I think the Swisstop are slightly better in the wet, but they both do the job. I run Campag on the road and both the above are a hell of a lot better than the stock brake pads in the wet ime.

Asked this here last winter, went for the Kool Stop Salmon and was very pleased indeed with the results.

Oh yeah... I forgot the black-paste build-up from winter road brake build up. Joy, that crap is impossible to shift from the carpet.
