Hi,

Has anyone any tips on a bike friendly B&B/pub close to Dalby?

Also, some of the lads that may be going don't have their own bikes - we are looking at hiring a few bikes, but I am aware that Purple Mountain are leaving at the end of March - we are looking at going mid-April - will a new bike hire facility be running?

Pickering is where you need to be.

Not sure about bike rental but you can ask at http://www.bigbearbikes.co.uk/

Bike hire from 1st of April from what was Purple Mountain venue in Dalby now called The Bike Barn. Ring Adrian at Pace Cycles Dalby to confirm but it should not be a problem.

Whilst on the phone to Adrian at Pace ask about their self catering house in Pickering. It's very comfy, has several pubs within an easy walk, a fish and chip shop etc. It also has a workshop attached to the house with anchors to chain bikes to.

It can accommodate 4 people I seem to remember plus a couple of massive sofas.

As Kona TC mentioned, Eleven westgate is a great B&B for MTB's, stayed with them a few times now. Amanda bakes some fantastic cakes & Mike cooks a cracking breakfast. Sure they can organise bike hire for you too.
HTH.

I have had some skills instruction with the other half of Eleven Westgate's business Gone Mountain Biking - it was worth every penny and more.
I haven't personally stayed but I've seen round the B&B and facilities and its a great place, really secure for the bikes and a full workshop.
