Heading to scotland, staying around dalbeattie / mabie etc, so looking for somewhere to stay.
B & B, cheap and cheerful, good breakfast, big rooms, for 4 - 6 blokes.
I guess anywhere between stranraer and dumfries really. Small town, nice local pubs etc etc. Bike friendly would be an advantage....
Any suggestions?

I am staying at Mabie House Hotel this weekend, and they do MTB specials, its also right on Mabie trailhead.

Easy access for Dalbeattie, Mabie, Kirroughtree.
We stayed here (Marthrown). Cracking little place with a Sauna & hot tub. The food is fantastic.
You can ride from the door & be on the Mabie route within minutes..

I usually stay at the kipford holiday park

either taking a tent or renting a one of the lodges (like a static van basically). They are a good option if you have left your booking a little late. Main advantage though is you can ride out of the park and join the dalbeattie red about 300 yards away
