Bloody focus has eaten another starter motor so its got to go. 155,000 miles oil light flickering constantly and reading on the net the dual mass flywheel might be the cause of premature starter wear ( this one went on in January). Anyway not much money and jobs at risk so want something cheap. Guy at work got a cheap daewoo and loves it for the money. Looking at 03 plate tacuma's. Small mpv would be ideal for carrying bikes and crap so waddaya reckon ? worth a punt for just over a grand or avoid like the plague

We bought a Daewoo Nubira estate for £800 a while ago as a runaround.

It was a great car until we needed to get a few parts for it, then it turned into a bit of a nightmare.

It had a lot of bells and whistles for the money though.

Had a Tacuma for the last 3 years. Bought a 2004 1.6 with 40,000 miles and FSH for £1,700. It's used purely for bike duties and it's been very reliable. Needed a couple of bits for an MOT at the weekend but nothing major. Masses of room inside. Nice enough to drive if you're not bothered about relaxed driving rather than foot to the floor stuff. It'll sit at 70mph with ease. Rear seats can be removed completely and it's almost van like in the back with them out. Parts are cheap too if anything does go wrong. I'd recommend it for a cheap, reliable, practical car.
