So, who's doing Dusk to Dawn?

7 days to go, and about now I should be about half way round the third lap.

Just about time to rummage around for another fig roll.

So who else is doing it?

Me! Team Piecep in a pair, with a mate also with the same team name going solo. Will be our 3rd year - not fit enough to be competitive, but it's a good laugh.

I'll be on this: http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/top-marks-for-specialized-warranty-new-stumpy-frame-content
And my team mate will be on a green Heckler with Pikes.

I was over there today & it's looking good. Can't bloody wait. Fingers crossed for dry.

I did it last year but forgot to sign up this year so I'm sitting it out.

Shiny bike!

I'll be SS'ing on the Swift.

Metcheck forecast is for rain next Saturday though... certainly won't be anything like last year!

Can't really worry what the forecast says now! It changes every day.

There'd been rain overnight there, but the trails were great today.

Me.

First proper go at an enduro and I'm doing it solo. I'll be the large bloke slogging round on a white Nomad. Not ideal but should be ok and means I'll have raced DH, XC, Enduro and done trials (sort of) all on the same bike this year.

Doing it solo this year but not really fit enough in any way, so just going to roll round and see how long I last.

There are 4 teams and 2 solos in our riding group www.muddymoles.org.uk

See you in a field in Norfolk in a weeks time - what out for us solo guys

yup. not at all prepared. very little riding done this year due to the arrival of baby lea at the end of January.

At least the metcheck forecast has improved. When i looked earlier they were forecasting 322mph winds! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Not sure if this is a joke or not....?
Thetford is pretty flat, but that doesn't necessarily make it easy. You have to pedal loads as you don't have any descents to recover on and the constant undulations take their toll.

From the Thetford MTB racing website the course is just over 10 miles/lap with 5 bombholes.....and if they are the ones I am thinking of, then at least 2 of them will be tricky to get out of. They are bad enough when you are familiar with them, don't have a queue of riders up your chuff & have favourable weather....!

Normally solo riders get a glow stick to separate them from the teams and ensure they get words of encouragement from the other riders.....

not really any big hills round thetford, but a hell of a lot of very little ups and downs in the singletrack, plus as mentioned above nowhere to really freewheel and rest.

i'm there again, Solo, SS Swift, so there will be at least 2 going round - and round - and round......... If it's anywhere near as good as last year it'll be ace! If you see me in the Retrobike jersey, feel free to point and laugh at the dribbling wreck!
