I used to commute from Saltaire to Leeds and the Kirkstall area was always a bit dubious first thing or last thing, and I often heard plenty of stories about people being bike-napped. In my time I also had kids jump out at me because they thought it was funny!
Then again he might have just been pissed and ridden in to the canal...
