Can anyone offer any sage advice regarding the loop in this months edition of the Cycling UK mag? On the face of things it looks like a good day out in the hills or is it one of those rides you can find in the Marches where you spend a lot of time riding up and down grassy hillsides?

Wayfarer in the Berwyns? I've done that classic route and it's a nice ride, but very mtbuk killer loop circa 1992 style. Pretty mellow and the wayfarer itself is just a rocky cart track iirc.

Not much pushing at all, no serious hikeabike, but there is a decent bog to traverse. It's nothing huge though.

I maybe thinking of somewhere else.  Has it still got the visitors book in the tin box at the top?

That was the sense I got. I'll have a look at what else is around the area too.

We did it a few years back. It was a big day out in hot weather. Nothing very technical but enjoyable. Strava says 50km and 1300m ascent. Got stung by a bee 😆

I remember the bog too but don't think it was mega wet in June.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Last time I did a loop round there (as opposed to passing through on a longer trip) was Jun 22 two years ago. Grand day out.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

The one in the CyclingUK mag/website is longer though, 67km

That one above is different to the one I did.

I suppose one can do a lot worse than a big day out in the hills. Assuming that the weather and ground conditions behave.
