A week ago I had to walk my nieces to school after telling them and the school that their mother (my sister) passed away early that morning due to cancer complications.
And this week we had a new school run...

The Flying Banana, complete with tag-along is back! Along with smiles and lots of chatting. There will be a lot more rides to come. The oldest two are also riding. The three nieces on the back and my nephew has taken his first steps in the Captain's role.
WHERE'S THE **** "LIKE" BUTTON?
Cancer.
Those smiles......So utterly, utterly beautiful.
Yup, you and the Kids get a huge Yay! from me.
Bloody great to see smiles like that.
Best of luck.

Bout all I can say about that at the mo.
Superb! People's resilience and support never cease to amaze me.
That's awesome!
Oh yeah, cancer can go **** itself!
Good work there - big bike adventures need updating.
I like your style dude. Keep 'em busy and get them on bikes.
Are they ok about being seen on it? Funnily enough my kids were a little uneasy about me turning up at school on this....

For all of you: the very highest of fives!
Seriously Mods/webwhatever - get a bloody like button ferchrisakes!
Great post, there is something about cycling that brings joy, maybe it's the feeling of speed, of being (loosely!) in control while flying along in the fresh air. Even if its just a short respite from thinking about their mum and your sister it must help.
Respect mate well done, sorry for your loss
+1 and good luck ๐
Respect and hugs
Thanks all. Back up there later this week and the funeral is next Monday. The kids thought riding it to school was the very best thing (as did mine 10 years ago). The nicest thing is when out with just one on the back, you can talk about anything, whilst just making progress. Talking will be important.
Of course they still have to put up with my bike lessons to get their road handling skills up to a decent standard.
I also rode 550 km on my own bikes last week as a bit of therapy of my own. Racing on Saturday really clears the mind!
Brilliant.
Best bike in the world. Best uncle in the world too.
Best post in a long time, genuinely made me smile.
Top top respect to you all
Yup, I second that.
