Cycle parking at or near Edgbaston Cricket Ground

Lucky enough to nab 2 tickets (one now free, my Dad can't go! Drop me a line if you want it) to the final days play of the England v India test @ Edgbaston tomorrow. I know the area reasonably well to drive, but never cycled round there. I can park up at my mates place 2 miles down the road in Stirchley for free, was thinking could take my stepdaughters MTB (worth £200 tops) and cycle the 2 miles there, and hopefully lock it up (have a decent lock at least) and return to it and it would still be there...

Any ideas for cycle parking @ or nearby?

There’s some bike parking near the main entrance, not a lot but some.
There’s also some near the Mac in Cannon Hill park.
Finally, I’m pretty sure there’s some by Aldi opposite the ground.

Very jealous you’ll be there, much as I tried, my boss wouldn’t give me the time off work.

Awesome cheers lunge! Good to know.

Eric Hollies stand too! Can't wait!!!

My boss is sound about booking time off to be fair, as long as I don't have prior commitments and I have the time owing, I can send him a message at 6pm the night before (like tonight) and he's fine about it... 👍🏻

Hopefully will be less of an anti-climax than last time I was there, which was for the hour it took NZ to beat England in the 4th days play last summer! At least we saw Anderson take two wickets and got a refund on our tickets...

Park and walk.
Was there on Saturday and was regular attendee for years until covid.
Traffic and driving skills in the area are shit; keep yourself safe - walk from Stirchley.

If it's only 2 miles, then walk - and remove the worry of the bike getting nicked.

Having said that, it's a shame that somebody can't decide to cycle to a large sports venue (or lots of other places, for that matter) without wondering if there's somewhere safe to leave their bike.

About 10mins after play started annoyingly, already 20 runs had been knocked off! 🤯

Exactly... Though to be fair, the new ALDI over the road has a small amount of cycle parking that is pretty secure as it's right by the exit. I locked the bike up there, and it was absolutely fine. 👍🏻

Might have only witnessed 90mins play today, but that was an absolute batting masterclass from Root and Bairstow!
