It's a proprietary path surface made from old tyres.
A section of the TPT near me has just been laid with it.
Aside from the fact that the trail was closed for months just to lay a short section, I'm a bit disappointed that what in effect is a plastic path has been laid. It doesn't 'feel' very environmentally or aesthetically sound.
It is supposed to be permeable, however, so shouldn't pool water.
I've ridden over it a few times now and the rolling resistance increase is very noticeable compared to the old gravel/mud surface.
I guess they can claim some environmental credit as it's recycled. What happens when it wear/breaks down though?
Which one is you?

Well, the devil's in the detail with supposed carbon savings, especially of down-cycled materials.
It's more like an accounting-trick than anything else.
Are we supposed to believe the alternative was buying new tyres just to shred them?
I've no idea how long it lasts. What would worry me are local yobs lighting fires on it.
