Hi,

If i put a wireless cycle computer on my front sus bike, will it be inaccurate because of the suspension movement? I lock the forks on road riding but I was thinking for when im in the woods etc. Is there a way around this?

Cheers

??????
it measures the revolutions of the wheel-doesn't matter whether the suspension moves!

The magnet mounts on the spokes and the receiver-e-thinga-me-bob attaches around the lowers on the suspension. So the movement in the suspension doesn't affect it

cat eyes wireless suck - esp when your 55 miles into a ride and it fails ... (on its first ride) reset its self - so i set wheel size again and it lasted 10 miles ...

Back you go ... for a 40 quid computer that is poor ! try velomann - far superior (used to sell both - far less returns on velomann - ie we had 1 in velomann ever and many many cat eye )

I just bought a 99p wireless computer from Hongkong on Ebay, it looks OK in the pictures and the functions are good, its only got to last the 100 miles of Kielder.

Just get one with wires - far more reliable, and I really don't understand why it's so much hassle.

Ditto, and the batteries last ages on wired ones compared to wireless.

And they weigh less.

And cheeper.

the magnet looks like it'd miss the sesnor by quite a bit?

I bet the sharp end of those self tappers played havoc with the stanchions ๐Ÿ˜‰

Uppside-down fork won't make a difference ๐Ÿ™„

Just avoid the tradmill! ๐Ÿ˜†

That magnet was for the Polar speed sensor I used to have mounted on the back of the leg.

+1 on avoiding wireless. Mine has been very hit and miss so I binned it.

Cateye Velo 3 wireless here. Been used in all weathers for over a year and never missed a beat on speed or cadence*.

Would probably go wired again in future though, just prefer to have that warm sense of reliability. ๐Ÿ™‚

*What's the betting that it fails 1/2 way around Kielder now... :S
