i've read up a bit on here but would like a comparison between the generic ones there are plenty of on ebay, such as:
(looks very similar to the cheaper C+B model)
and the C+B seen:
http://www.candb-seen.co.uk/bikehead-lights/cabs-02-series---cree-xml.html
which is almost twice the price by the time it's shipped to germany.
is it worth the extra wonga for the nicely machined housing and possibly better beam shape?
I prefer the DX type housing. I've got a genuine DX one and an eBay one. There is a difference but only slight. The eBay one has a slightly different reflector and seems brighter. Also comes with a UK changer rather than using an adapter with the DX one. Just check the eBay feedback of the seller to make sure they haven't sold dodgy ones
That eBay one looks very like the original smudge/mtbbatteries one..
That eBay one looks very like the original smudge/mtbbatteries one..
Or alternatively, the original smudge/mtbbatteries one looks very like the eBay one.
Indeed!
I bought one of those Ebay style ones, not from that seller, digisourceuk or v similar
It was very bright but more of a spot than flood and the battery packed in after two rides!
The seller is sending a replacement battery.
they ebay ones look exactly like the 1000lumen light that C&B sell. i bought the 1200 lumen ones from C&B just over a week ago via amazon and i have to say the performance for the price has been phenomenal so far. and it also comes with a UK adapter.
i know the ebay one is less than half price but i'd rather pay more for the peace of mind that should i have any problems then in theory i should be able to contact the suppliers relatively easily
this image was taken behind my house....the gate at the end of the alley is about 60m away. also this was from the second night using it...since then i have completely discharged the battery and recharged it and for some reason the light seems brighter!!
