Marple/The Grove/Offerton-ists, is this rideable. I know it's cheeky, but is it a "everyone rides it anyway" cheeky or "you're likely to get aggro" cheeky or "it's barely rideable" cheeky? We're talking early morning mid-week, not mid-afternoon weekends

I think we used to call that "the jesus trail" because there was one point where you came round a corner and exclaimed "jesus!" becuase of the massive ****ing drop to your side.

I haven't ridden it for a few years (probably at least a decade and more like 15+ years, given we moved to Marple 17 years ago) but I recall it was nice enough as "something different" even it it did mean hoiking your bike over a stile or two

There's a couple of drop pins available on google maps - with one photo showing you may have a fight with some blackberries.  Other than that it looks ok... can't see many walkers using it.

Forget it!

I walked it last Christmas. The bit through the woods was a slippery, overgrown nightmare even when on foot.

Nah defo not worth it. Tried something between the Middlewood and Offerton Rd a long time ago and it was pants.

Coming off the Canal and along Cown Edge Way towards the Middlewood (over the Golf Course) is ok as there's a nice little bit in the woods. Never had any issues with the golfers at any time of day/night.
