At 183cm, 6' am I too big for a medium flaremax?

The obvious thing is to try it, which I will but wondering if there are others similarly tall on a medium.

I don't know if it's any help but I'm 5'11" and have a large 2018 Rocket.

Every other bike I have is a medium. I like the extra length of the large Rocket but I do miss the stand over height and sometimes wish I'd gone for a medium because of this.

I would say so. I'm your height, average in dimensions, and had a large flare max.

Height range for medium goes to 180cm according to cotic https://www.cotic.co.uk/product/flareMAX2, so its worth trying it if you've seen one you fancy.

I'm 178cm and ride a medium Gen 4 FlareMAX, which I think is what a 2020 bike would be. For me, I had to make the choice between medium and large and the latter would probably have been OK. I took the view that, if I was riding steep and technical terrain more often, then a large Jeht would have been the best choice but the medium sizing suited the character of the FlareMAX better. I reckon you'd be better off with a large but it would depend on what you'll be doing with it, what your preferences are and maybe your relative lengths of limbs and body.

5'9 and on a medium gen 2 flaremax. I think you'd be fine on a large at your height.

I'm 5'11" and have a large 2019 Flaremax. I would definitely find a medium too small. It's a great bike, way more competent than the limited travel would perhaps suggest.

185cm on a large gen4 flaremax which is spot on for me. I think it will depend what frame you're coming from. Have you compared on geometrygeeks?

5 foot 9 and on a medium and it fits great , I've got short legs though.

I would have thought that a medium would be too small at your height but if you can get a test ride at least you'll be sure .

Exactly the same here. The bike fits perfectly and I certainty wouldn't want it any smaller.

I'm 5' 9" and riding a medium 2020 FlareMax, fits me perfectly with a 35mm stem, I suspect you'll find it a little cramped, but obviously depends on proportions and personal preference.

I’d say it’ll be on the small size for you. 5’10” on a medium 2020 RocketMax here, and I wouldn’t want it any smaller.

I test rode it today. So yes, it is a nip on the small side but just about OK. I am a fairly wheels on the ground rider and this bike would be for short half day and night rides. Peak District, Lancashire mainly.

The other bike is a large solarismax for bikepacking duties but general riding as well at the moment.

One definite sizing issue is seatpost extension. I would need it another 2cm higher but the dropper routing would not allow it to be raised without a lot of faff.

Darn it. It is a bargain as well.

Too small. Large SolarisMAX is a lot bigger than a FlareMAX of that vintage. Large or C3/C4.
