Got a new pair of cordless phones for the house as a straight replacement for the single cordless unit that we have at the moment. Old phone works fine - no static on line, base plugged directly into a junction box in the living room.
The new phones (and we've tried Siemens and Panasonic sets) have static on the line, making then practically unusable.
Now, we have a wireless router. My wife unplugged the ADSL connection to the router the other day (router left turned on) and the static disappeared.
Does anyone have any ideas why the new phones have interference where as the old one does not? Or how we can get rid of the static on the new phones?
are yiu using micro filters
micro filter on at the broadband connection. Acquired another for the phone (router and house phone in diff rooms so diff junction boxes) and that seems to have got rid of the static.
Never used a micro filter with the old phone and that never had static. CAn't figure that one out. But seems to be sorted.
