Afternoon,

I've heard it's possible to convert the recon 100mm to 120mm just by removing a spacer, is this right? I'll be buying a new fork soon and wonder if I can save some ££ (yes I am tight) by just doing a conversion. Or is it more complicated than that? I.e is it only certain models (gold silver air coil etc) and years and woll it require a load of new tools?

Providing your fork is an "all travel" fork their should be no issue.

IIRC some OEM forks were/are non adjustable.

The process is dead easy.

Peterpoddy of this parish has a guide >>>>

It shows Reba forks in the guide but apart from the secondary (negative) air chamber the forks are pretty similar.

So, am I right in thinking that if I converted this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RockShox-Recon-Gold-RL-Suspension-Forks-inc-Poploc-BLACK-/270845484156?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item3f0fa61c7c#ht_2499wt_1396

by taking the space out, it would be exactly the same as the equivalent 120mm fork?
