Fancy having a go at Duo.

Got an older 5 bolt RS7 Middleburn square taper chainset. Can I just buy a 5 bolt eg. 36T Middleburn ring to replace the current middle ring, ditch the outer, adjust the front mech and give it a spin (the inner ring is 22T).

Or is it more complex than that? Would I need to change the b/b axle length?

You will need some shorter chainring bolts, but replacing just the rings is a nice and simple solution.

The more elegant solution is replacing the spider with a duo, but you don't have as much choice with chainring sizes.

Cheers, Rich
