Cunningly disguised what tyre for the dirty reiver post. For info i just want to try and make it round the 200km!😉
I like the feel of 650b wheels on my gorilla monsoon so thinking ill change the g-one speeds (2.0) for something more grippy and robust. The conti racekings in 2.2 look to suit the purpose perfectly and for a decent price.
Any feedback on them would be fantastic before i pull the trigger, alternatively i can chuck my 700c wheels on with 43mm gravelkings.
I've been running the poverty spec £13 version for a couple of years on my SS with no complaints other than they don't work tubeless, quick, grippy and wearing incredibly well. YMMV with the more expensive version, I wouldn't be running tubes out of choice but they came on the bike.
700c with GK`s would get my vote
It was the poverty spec that got my attention, then i found the new tubeless version for £19 so thought it might be worth a shout.
The poverty spec one feels paper thin, which actually makes it quite nice with lightweight tubes when I've been used to heavy tubeless tyres. Stood upto Comrie Croft at SSUK too so not too fragile either.
I rode a fair chunk of the route last summer on the way to comrie croft, I think you'd be fine on the gravel kings. Just depends where you want to sit on the speed/comfort balance.
