Good evening. Can anyone assist with a daft problem?
Shimano Deore FH-M475 VIA-M hub with the standard freehub as supplied. I am trying to fit a SRAM Apex (road) 10-speed cassette.
Everything engages fine, but it is very obviously not going to do up tight with the lock-ring screwed up. It'll do, but there's massive slop.
SRAM cassettes are definitely compatible with Shimano freehubs in general. Have I got a fundamental problem with 10-speed / 9-speed compatibility? Or is there some cunning adaptor-widget of some sort needed?
Any help greatly appreciated at this stage! 🙂

Not sure this helps but Shimano 10 spd road cassettes have a tiny thin washer that fits behind the cassette. Not sure if SRAM needs the same.
Yes, that sounds like the right general idea. Hmmm. Definitely don't have one... 🙂
