[Closed] Commuters, recommend me a bike lock

A new job means that I will be back on the bike all day, leaving it outside prisons, approved premises and general dodgy areas. The bike is not worth a fortune so I don't want to spend a fortune on a lock, on the other hand it would be nice if it kept the thieves away for a while. So nothing that costs a small fortune and nothing made of cheese.

Thanks in advance,

BB

kryptonite New York Fagghetaboutit - well worth the money (although I think planetx have them at keen prices?)

your bike may not be worth a lot but compared to the hassle of coming out of somewhere with your gear and the bike isn't there...

I bought one f these fom Decathlon a few weeks back. It feels pretty substantial and should deter all but the most determined. Just £20 too.

I use this--very strong and very light for a D lock (and great price from here):

Also these save me the need to lock wheels:

here we go, I know it's not that cheap but how much would a taxi, a new commuter bike and a lock cost?
