I need some to fit my 29er so i guess I'll be looking at 28" or 700c ones, nothing too narrow (1.5" - 1.75" would be perfect and a max of £20per tyre. Also needs to have good puncture protection.
So whats good and whats shite ❓
have a look at next day tyres site - some cheap[ish] tyres on there if you're looking for something bald

I've always had good results with Spesh Nimbus, and just the standard versions, not even the Flak-Jacket ones.
I was in a bike shop yesterday, and they had a section of Schwalbe Marathons that had drawing pins pushed into it. None of them penetrated the tyre. That has to be worth considering.
One downside of the 'armoured' tyres is that that are heavier and pretty expensive, but probably worth it.
I've had Schwalbe Marathon Plus 28c tyres on my commuter for over a year. No punctures at all despite the amount of broken glass on some of the routes I regularly use. I've not seen them that cheap but google might have. Think they go all the way up to 38c or thereabouts too.
They'll be needing replaced soon and I'll be buying the same again.
