661 Kyle Straits, more big knee than shin protection but very comfy, I ridden XC for 4 / 5 hours with them on no problems.

Depends on what you want them for though.

J rides in Fox Launchpads and gets on really well with them - he is also tall and chickenlegged. He says they're a bit warm with long trousers but fine with shorts on. Dead quick and easy to get on and off too, so you don't mind taking them with you and actually using them.
I find my kyles a bit of a hassle and in hindsight wish I'd gone for something more like the Fox ones.

I've been using 661 Race lights. Seem really comfortable.

I ride with them quite loose, but when you build up a bit of sweat the just sit in place really nice. There is a cunning way of crossing over the straps that helps them follow the contour of you calf better too.

I've been using Dianese for years, but tried some POCs on the other day & they're absolutely fantastic. I'll be buying some very soon.

I use 661 Kyle Straits alot, easily for long 5hr + rides. They're never going to be cool but its alot better than full knee/shins.
