Fancy carrying some lightweight fishing gear on certain rides (Llyn Crafnant, Llyn Padarn, various tarns etc).

Anyone done this?
Can you recommend some lightweight packable gear for Trout, Char etc,

Have looked at some kit in local Decathlon, but haven't fished for years so not sure what to look for (only kit I have at the mo is a couple of old split cane fly rods, which even when broken down are longer than my top tube, and some ancient coarse gear).

Ideally something lightweight, reasonably priced and convenient/safe for carrying whilst on the bike.

Assume I'm looking at telescopic rods? Any ideas as where to buy decent ones without breaking the bank?

Looked into exactly the same thing yesterday. Came across these two links which may be of use to you.

Bennetts of Sheffield and Mullarkeys are decent online shops if you're looking for stuff.

Or good old ebay.

Cheers for the info folks.

Will probably try something like this:

to start with and see if I get on with it.
Local Lidl don't have any of the £10.00 kits in at the mo so might have to splash out a bit 😀
