Is there any way that anyone has tried successfully to stop this? maybe some sort of insole, or rubber seal?. Feet were baltic at in the Cairngorms at the weekend, and it defo starts up through the cleat into the sole of the foot.
I had Northwave winter boots, and my feet would still get cold. One thing that did help was plugging all of the little screwholes around the cleat (I used chewing gum - it was an emergency!)
I'd love to get some sugru - put that on before mounting the cleat, another layer of sugru on top of the cleat (under the sole), and tinfoil and big insoles, or whatever it takes
(but for now I just use cleat-less shoes on all bikes in the depths of winter)
I know my ski boots had an alu foil on the underside, presumiably to reflect heat. Don't know what pedals you use but if you have a softer sole and a small pedal there may be a pressure spot affecting a loss of blood flow to that part of the sole of your foot.
I suffered the same last winter so bought a pair of these.
