I fancy getting a new 29er frame to put some 150mm Pikes on

Codeine seems the obvious budget choice - anything else to consider?

I hear that On One are bringing out a slightly more hardcore version of the Codeine called the Tramadol, and a downhill version called the Morphine.

Well If that is not a joke they will be a long time coming. They are bringing out the 650b this summer and a DH bike is at the prototype stage.

Yes, but get a -1 degree slackset if you're running a 150mm Pike.

The naw Canfield Brothers Riot looks like it may fit the bill.

The new Canfield looks great but it hardly fits the required 'budget choice'
Codine or Thumper are the obvious ones, though Spesh Enduro's seem to come though reasonable cheaply 2nd hand (glancing at them, not properly investigated, so I could be very wrong), the same could be said about the original Kona Satoria (Rutland have them for £1500 new)

Oops, I'd assumed the fork travel was the key bit and 'budget' was referring solely to the codeine.

Thumper aside, the codein pretty much stands alone price-wise.

What's the main difference between Codeine and the El Guapo?
