Reasonable lifespan & actually stop / slow you down - any recommendations?

My lbs recommended Clark ones with the replaceable inserts, £10 a set. Not got round to fitting them yet as I broke my collar bone and have no need for brakes just now. I've read the instructions about 'toeing' them, I'd never heard of this before

Kool Stop seem to be where it's at for best rated.. but not cheap.
I really rate Aztec. Evans do complete set of 4 for 8.99. Pretty good deal, IMO.

Swiss Stop is as hi tech as rim brake pads go.

Had Swissstop on a commuter bike for several years now, seem to last much longer than any other brand I've tried for v-brake pad

Cheers for the info.

So a set of these

And can you buy the shoes seperately?

Or do you just buy a set of these and change the pads over
