found this over on Descent world, good video, really shows how sketchy and fast some of these guys are, what's amazing is that the fastest guys were getting down the hill 20 seconds faster than this run or therabouts (If i've got my sums right!) Two of the junior riders got down faster than the winner of the elite race as well.

Loving that can't wait to get to Inners is that on the "standard " DH trails or are there some extras?

They usually cut new bits of trail, but use existing bits too.

As the above says it's a hybrid, with the bulk of the new stuff on the top half of the course. The big jump is the drop on the Matador, and from there down the track was fairly conventional. Nothing to stop you going up and giving it a crack as it's well worn after two days racing. Bloody good fun.

Yup, that run was super-quick, but still beaten on race day by quite a few others - sheesh

Cresta Run to begin with, then a really cool section through the trees to link in to the bottom of the middle section of Matador, just before the large double and big drop. Bottom section was so much fun, with only a few little issues to deal with.

Can't wait to get there again.

Oh, and has anyone else seen the vid somewhere else, that shows Ruiraidh Cunningham ripping a tear-off off his goggles in mid-air on the final double? Unbelieveable!

why is he wearing a shoe on his head?

wish they'd lose the music so you can hear the braking and bits he freewheels (and the sounds over the jumps)

Yup, agree with that, rather annoying soundtrack, but it's not The Collective.

Is it just me that was amazed at how smoothly Ruiraidh C rides - just seemed so calm, smooth and uber-fast? Or is it standard practice to dump your muddy tear-offs 'mid double' ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ?

On an MXer yes very common.

Yup, that's true.

Great watching him though - ridiculously quick!

His line over the ski jump at the bombhole at the end was unreal, genuinly thought he'd jumped out the track. Lew Buchanan and Mark Scott's runs took the biscuit though, juniors beating the rest of the field bodes well for the future!

Yup, agree.

There's a great pic of him landing that jump, and the expressions on the spectators faces tells it all - he was a different style of rider, although only 0.5s ahead of the competition.
