I need to get some road tyres for a 20-year old Raleigh. I want the cheapest I can get as I think it'll mostly get used as a pub/shop hack. Any suggestions?

Walk into LBS. Ask them what they've got that's really cheap. Buy them.

I'd spend a little bit and get something punture proof, Spesh armadillos are pretty good. Knowing the streets round my way id go for them, broken glass, grit everywhere. Something cheap will be flat in less than a mile!
