[Closed] Change 32t to 30t instead of upgrading to 12spd

One of my mtbs is sram 1x11 with a 32t front. I'd love to have the range of 12spd (like my other bike) Instead of spending a few hundred on a new group would chaining the front to a 30t work ok? I guess I'd lose some top end speed but not that bothered as its only road sections I'd be in my tallest gear

I find this manageable on my trail bike with a 30t ring for my local riding (bit hilly) but I much prefer my 10-46t cassette when I go to the Lakes. Makes all the difference getting up climbs like Garburn.

So I'd definitely suggest an oval ring - or even a 28t if poss - if you are keeping that cassette.
