Today thanks to a fat bike and super new low gears I cleared this. I was feeling chuffed with myself but looking at Strava I see that people can do it in 2 minutes ,whereas I took well over 5 minutes. I guess I could go a bit faster at the bottom but I'm saving myself for the corner.
Does anyone on here ride it? What gear can you pull up there,do you get off at the memorial corner and run. Do you go outside of the memorial or can you keep on the inside?
Anyway I salute your super human efforts and would love to see some of the really quick people riding it.
Ride it pretty regularly. strava tells me my best time is just over 3 minutes have to go and put some effort in. This weekend was on 32-36, i have, when fitter, cleaned it on a singlespeed - grip is the bigger problem.
These days I tend to go inside on the corner and just go for it but that has a bigger risk of spinning out!
I know one of the guys near the top of the leaderboard and, well, he's just frighteningly quick, nothing more to it!
I use Strava compare to see where others are faster, gearing's a personal choice.
The person in front of me on Strava did it in February.
Quite where he managed to find any grip I have no idea.
All the other Strava attempts are in the summer. So I guess hats off to him as well.
I know 5 of the people on that first page, they are fit lads. Apparently I did once in a little under 4 minutes not sure what gear sorry ๐
looking at when I did it, it would have been on a 26er Orange 5 1*10 if it helps.
