Evenin' all - the chain on my commuter's probably past it's best, i was wonderin if i can swap the chain from my main bike on to my commuter.....same speed cassette and still shimano etc.
Anyone see any problems with this?

Depends on how worn they are. If ones worn more then the other by a decent amount, then it won't run smoothly, lots of slipping and skipping.

THe main problem would be if the chain you're putting on is shorter than the one you're taking off? It's ok to shorten a chain but making it longer is not really on.

As RealMan says if it's worn more it could be a problem. Can't you get hold of a new chain? You'll be making more work for yourself if you swap them coz then you'll have to put another one on your main bike again anyway?

Was hoping to get a new chain for the main bike and letting the parts "trickle" down to the commuter. Don't like spending money (directly) on the commuter if i can help it, plus it's a good excuse for a new chain on the good bike!
I'll have a look at the wear rate on the chain on the other bike
