just looking for a chain guide for my trail bike. Any advice?

And what sort of setup do you have?

If it's a 1x, and you have iscg mounts, then these dinky wee guards you can get now are great- they fit more easily than oldscool ones because you don't have to take the crank off, they're light, and they're really simple (because narrow/wides do such a good job of keeping a chain on, you don't need a monster, you just need a wee gentle nudge). I have a Shovel one, just because that was the only choice at the time, but there's others now- Oneup do one, rpoabbyl others.

I'll have a look later, but I think mine is on a BB mount, as Northwind says you don't need anything huge now.

Got a OneUp direct mount jobby, works great and doesn't cost the earth/weigh much.

I would recommend the One-up.

Nice bash guard and a little top guard, job done.

ive got a 3x at the front and was wondering if any could, in principle, be appropriate or compatible without compromising the bikes performance and ride.
