Building a cotic bfe at the moment and have decided on a 1x10 set up, not sure which chain device as I want to use the ISCG mounts but the xc type devices only seem to have a BB mounted bracket? I think something like an LG1 would be over kill. While on the subject chain devices are a ridiculous amount of money for what is a basic piece if CNC maching/pressing and some plastic! In fact I may end up making my own from some carbon sheet and by the guides be lighter too
I got one from Pauls Component Engineering, it's nice and works

Thanks but I wanted to make use of the ISCG tabs
I have a MRP Lopes SL on my Cotic Soul and a MRP G2 Mini SL on my 5 spot.
They work really well, but yip thye are silly expensive for what they are. I used the £50 off next order thingy off CRC, so I ONLY paid £75 each for them.
This is still daft money.
I think the Staitline silent guide is the one to have, but I needed BB mount. They only do them in ISCG.
CRC are doing the silent guide plastic bits for £12, so if you can make a Carbon back plate your there. (you will need a bash of course). I have been trying to see if somebody can machine me one so I can get one for both my bikes, but i'm not having much luck.
I have the pattern for the silent guide one if you want it to try and make a Carbon back plate out of.

Email me in profile and we can discuss further vortex!
Cheers
Will do, just going to walk the dog.
Have the LG1 and, whilst maybe a little overkill, it is very good. You can take bits off if needed (like the skid plate banana thing.) Also the BB mount one is still the iscg version but with handy BB to iscg adapter (think you can buy this separately too.)
Superstar XCR is what I use, they do several types for you to look at.
Can't fault it, works flawlessly.
I use a Superstar Plasma on my Five and really rate it.
I think it was MBR that tested it and said it was noisey. It can be but only when on the 36t sprocket at the rear.
It has worn in now and has become quieter. When I changed to the XT cassette and Conex chain this also helped.
+1 for the MRP Lopes, have it on the Soul also.
+10 for it being overpriced.
Amos YHM
I think I'd go with Gamut, lovely things... Slightly easy to bend the backplate though.
I run a bash and blackspire inner guard on my Sovereign. It has iscg tabs and I have a spare stinger but it's not necessary, never dropped a chain. If you can't find the innerguard then a bbg bashguard will work.
I've got a Gamut p20 on my alpine 160 and have had no issues, I run a 34t up front and it's only noisy when in 36t rear cog.
I run I MRP x1 on my Soul and have had no issues either.
Just bought one of these for my newly ressurected vp free,

Couldnt find any review but its mega lightweight and bargainous!

I'd be interested to see what they could do - or try fibre-lyte

Let us know if you do it and how it goes 8)
There's a Gamut in the classified right now - new, £65. Wish that had been for sale a month ago...
MRP 1x on my Hummingbird. Only time it makes any noise is when there's filth and it's on the biggest cog.
Got a Superstar Laser on my BFe with a 1x9 setup, works great. Had to fit the spacers to sort the chainline for higher gears, douse the roller with copius amounts of silicon lube and you'll bearly hear it. All good for £34!
straitline silent guide.
