Hi

Been given the green light to get a new bike before doing the Megavalanche in July.

Thinking 160mm and was considering the like of Nuke proof mega,Cube fritz, Santa cruz butcher (I know it 150mm), came to the conclusion I wanted a Cayon Strive.

Was all up for getting the 7.0 or 8.0, but they are not available before August.
The 9.0 looks pretty, but not sure about the Cranks bro wheels, and hammerschmit.

What do people think of he 9.0, anyone have one?

Also most 160mm bike only go up to L not XL, would I find them a bit cramped at 6ft 5?

Been studying 160mm bikes myself lately.

Trek Slash was one of the prime candidates and comes in a 21.5in size for big people.

I did consider the Strive actually, but personally I wouldn't pay the extra to be lumbered with the CB wheels and a Hammersmith.

i wouldn't go for the strive.....

the back end is a bit "schwammig". that means it blows through its travels quite quickly....

Cove G Spot in large?

I'm 6ft and ride a medium with a 65mm stem (Cheers Tony)

The bike is awesome, and perfect for the mega (done it twice on my commie miniDH) I want to do it again to play on that bike

I'm 6' 6" and currently have the same issue with dh frames... They only go up to l or the Xl isn't any bigger than other people's l.

Personally, first thing with any bike is does it fit, pointless having worlds best suspension system if bike is too small. I ride an Xl yeti 575... Pretty much the biggest frame I could find and it's single pivot so not the plushest, but i'll take it rather than being cramped all day. If you can do some comparisons with what you ride currently, the key stat your looking for are the reach and secondly the stack.

"schwammig" new word on me!
I currently have a old style G-spot in large(CRC sold of a load in 2010).
The Frame is pretty tidy, but most of the kit came off my old bike and has seen better days, hence the idea to buy a new bike.
Fit wise the G-spot is ok, but I do have the seat post right up to ride xc, never had a chance to try it in XL.

6'4" on a L El Guapo, but it just fits me, so it'd depend on how you were proportioned. I'd not want it any smaller.

I also used to ride a L prophet (and they came in XL too).

For DH bikes, I rode a socom in L, The biggest size glorys are always big too, very long.

The new ones just landed have 10mm longer top tubes.

When is the new EL Guapo going on the site?

Is it going to be just the frame or do you have build deals?

Build deal with a Reverb would be good!

How will the 29er ones be sized up?

I think a longer travel 29er is in my future, once the forks drop below 1 million dollars.

I am 6'4" and ride a L mega. It is a bit too small, but I get used to it as only use it really for gravity days. for that, it is brilliant. If I had to do any big pedaling days I think it might get rather uncomfortable. bt I have a lovely ventana 29er for that.

for mega avalanche, it might be perfect.

There was facebook chat about them doing an XL, might be worth raining them?

I really really really want an intense T29, with modded 180 Tallas forks, for really big days. In black please.

Kev

Yes - here in Late August - Lyrics, X9, Reverb.

There's a deal here though - http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/YBCL158022/titus_el_guapo_slx_custom_large_orange

Just finalising the El Guapo 29er. I'm planning on a November arrival date though.

I'm 6'6" and I ride an xl spesh enduro (newer model) custom build and its a very good fit. I run a 60mm stem which is the shortest I would prob go. Rides very well on the ups and great on the downs. Prob the longest wheelbase bike I have owned!

Seat tube is a little short at 20.5" but it's fine. 170mm headtube keeps things in proportion. Reach is good for taller riders.
