Mates little girl needs a bike for hooning about the street and before I suggest this bike is it reasonably ok. She's 13, won't be going to trail centre, and wants something shiny and new (otherwise I'd have suggested second hand hardtail)

Appreciate it's not a real mtb, but is it ok as a bike for mucking about on?

I acquired one from the tidy tip minus a back wheel to give to a friend. It seems pretty good.

Much better than my first 'proper' Saracen MTB. Disks, sus fork, amazing for the money really.

I'd say it is a real MTB just not up to sending the drops quite as hard as say, a Santa Cruz or whatever.

I’ve just bought my daughter (11) an Orbea MX 50 via Sprockets mail order.  They have 20% off full priced bikes so made it £320.  Shimano hydro discs, choice of colours and tourney based 2x group set.  Even came with pedals (found out after I’d ordered some more).

48 hours dpd delivery included.  Daughter is well happy.

No worries, guys at sprockets we’re great so happy to pass on some business.

Remember the bike is boxed so requires assembly so far as: fit front wheel, saddle, pedals, tighten grips (lock-on) and stem/bars to steerer.  Your friend needs a set of Allen keys and a spanner to fit pedals.
