Treating myself to some Carbon Fibre road wheels.

Narrowed it down to between Bontrager Aeolus 37 (DT Swiss Hubs) Vs Enve Foundation 45's.
Can get both for a similar price (in $ where the Enve are much cheaper than the UK)

Anyone got either of them?
The Enve have the better brand name, but I think the Bontrager get the better reviews. The Enve are marginally cheaper.

Save a load of cash and get some Just Riding Along wheels.

I bought a pair after the gravel wheels I got from them had worked faultlessly for years - also have a crash replacement policy of a rim at 1/3 of the list price.

The Bonty's have hooked rims and DT Hubs.

The ENVE's have hookless rims and own-brand hubs.

Bonty's all the way for me.

I think the Bonty Pro 51 has better specs than the 37 - wider internally and externally, so suitable for 28 or 30mm tyres.

Having said that, seeing as stock on is low to non existent in most shops I think they're probably about to release a load of new wheels. Specialized are also about to release a load of new wheels and their second tier 'CL' level are very good value. Might be worth holding on a month or two to see what's released.

I have no experience of Enve as they're extortionate in the UK.

Have you looked at the offerings from Hunt? have a set of 54's and would recommend them (other rim depths are available).

The Bontragers are the first wheels to be made with OCLV NEXT thermoplastic as opposed to a thermoset resin system. Trek talk about lots of benefits but thermoplastics are recyclable and thermosets are not if that's of any interest

Good idea. OP needs to look at this through the lens of what the disruptors are in the rotational propulsion equipment space.

I have both the RSL and the Aelous Pro.
Hopefully the photos work.
The aesthetically the Pro are nowhere near as nice as the RSL. Both perform very well, I prefer the RSL as they are lighter and better looking.

I’m more than happy with the pro on my winter bike. I’m not sure about the hubs on the Enve so would be looking at the Bontrager out of those options.
