I am replacing my shimano XT M775 levers/shifters for some M966 XTR dual controls. Hope I don't regret it, but anyway I forgot about the hose fittings since the XT ones use a straight fitting but the XTR ones need a 90 degree banjo. Can you just buy Shimano banjo fittings for these to fit to my current Shimano hose or do I have to buy more hose with a 90 degree banjo pre-attached? Goodridge do fittings for £28 but I wasn't sure whether these will fit standard shimano hose or whether you have to use goodrigde hose which seems from the reviews slightly thicker?
In a word.. no.
I seem to remember that you can buy the 90 degree connectors but they cost as much as a new hose with one already crimped on.
the new hope hose fittings work a treat
No, i'd suggest contacting Hope as they made hose kits for Shimano brakes, and all the parts are available seperately, you may be able to fit them to your hoses.
