i see on there web site for there 2011 frame
on an Alpine I'd be more worried about the swingarm......

MMMMMMMM cant see the reason to be worried about that weld
section on the Alpine as if thats the top of the swing arm
Then its the same section thats on the Orange 224 Downhill bike.
Grantway, my friends alpine swingarm cracked in the place in the above photo, it was a big hole when he found it,got the whole frame replaced Speaking to the orange rep they knew about it and have since changed the design on the new one.

nope it's 2010, and the design is the same as 2008. underside of swimgarm.
Na the swing Arm was changed half way through the year
in 08 mate This was a very small change but not to the look
well they still break so not a sucessful change!
True, I know someone how's swingarm snapped on their Alpine.
How is your mates replacement?

Sorry to jump on your thread, but in the pic by Benjag, is it the 4 little cracks coming out from the hole and the 2 cracks close to either side of the apex of the arch shaped weld that were the concern? Mine looks exactly the same. Also on close inspection it looks like there's a tiny (2mm or so) crack appearing on the rhs weld of the shock mount on the frame, running from the front of the bike. Mine was one of the first 2010 ones.
Same thing has just happened to my 2010 Alpine 160 swingarm. Big hole and two big cracks running down the welds. Orange are really good at getting things replaced though so im not worried. Just a shame its happened just as the weathers improved!
