You will probably get away with it, I think.
Tubeless rim + tubeless tyre = excellent
Tubeless rim + non tubeless tyre = good
Non tubeless rim + tubeless tyre = great
Non tubeless rim + non tubeless tyre = maybe (if youre lucky)
I think thats about right. Of course depends on which tyre, and which rim.

I put a non-tubeless big earl on a tubeless 819 rim, inflated easily with a bmx tube as a rim strip - two very rocky rides in the Lakes later and it's been fine.

Never failed yet
As for the OP
Yup no problem you'll need sealant & maybe a rim strip
