... if I already have the correct middle spacer?

I’m after a replacement SRAM GXP bottom bracket but there’s seemingly very little stock anywhere. I’ve found the 83mm version, though. From images, the cups look the same but it has a longer internal spacer, which would make sense. Can anyone confirm?

Worst case you can saw 10mm out of the 83mm tube and tape it together. Go for it.

Yes. I've used fatbike ones in a 68mm shell by just reusing the middle plastic tube.

Cool, thanks all. Unfortunately the 83mm ones have now sold out too. Perhaps someone else read my thread.

Uberbike do have stock but it’s all in silly colours.

If you don't mind silver just stick the cups in sodium hydroxide for 30 secs...

Are 83mm cranks for fatbikes then?

No it was a 100mm shell if I remember correctly so an even longer spacer in the middle, but the theories the same, the only thing that differs between BBS of different lengths taking 24mm spindles is the plastic sleeve in between the cups.

Top search on Google.

Thanks. Didn’t find that one but managed to find one @Tredz so ordered that. It was a bit more expensive though.

They’re for (some) DH bikes.

Picked up a Praxis M24 the other day, seems nice, a few places had it in stock and is the size you want.
