Been using my road bike a bit recently - a v old frame but with a Dura Ace 9 spd rear mech, Shimano double at the front and a Dura Ace 6 speed cassette. I've an old 9spd close ratio Shimano cassette that I've used a bit on my mountain bike - will this fit my road bike thinking of compatibility with free hub, chain etc?

Cheers

Road mech won't cope with the spread

Edit: you won't fit a 9spd cassette on a 6spd (?!) freehub

You many want to check exactly what you have, 6 speed Dura Ace will be from the mid to late 1980's and won't be compatible with anything modern.

If you have a freehub with a 6 speed cassette, it will be Uniglide, which isn't compatible (without a lot of metal work) with modern Hyperglide cassettes.
