As above.....I bought a pair of Halfords Advanced roof racks (Thule design) which are superb....But, they don't fit my sons Nukeproof Mega. The clamping arms just don't reach the down tube..I already have the wheel pads as far forward as they will go but it still falls about 3" short...
Anyone else had this problem?
Thules can go through the maxle. Front wheel out and into the maxle mount.
Thanks for the reply Weeksy.....forgive for being a bit daft here.....do you mean the plastic tie down strap goes through the maxle or there is actually a separate adaptor type thing??
separate adaptor mate.
like this
Thule 561.
My Mega fits in the Thule as do many friends more crazy frame designs; Marin Quadlinks etc. It's not the fork mounted one, wheels stay on. Clamps on the down tube, ratchets through spokes on the wheels.
my mega fits comfortably on a Thule pro ride 951 Pete.

Old style Mega in a 591 here too, fits great when I'm n not in the van!
Thanks guys.....will have to get the wallet out again... ๐
Yakima front Loader. You'll never go back.
I cannot recommend the Inno roof carrier enough. You can get them through the Roof Box Company. Not cheap but they hold via the tyres so no danger of frame damage. They are also incredibly secure.
New style mega on a thule 591 here, fits perfectly but the clamp has started to wear the paint on the downtube, so some helitape is advisable if you get one.
