My 3 drop barred bikes are:
Road bike is full Ultegra 10sp (6600 series)
CX bike is full Campag 10sp (Centaur + Veloce)
My now deceased winter road bike is Shimano Tiagra (4500).
I like the action of Ultegra on the road, and Campag ("clunk click") off road.
But, do I flog the Campag kit and stick the Tiagra on the CX bike to make wheels/parts interchangeable?
Decisions....

If you interchange the bits a lot, then yes. If you don't and you like the campag, why bother? Swap when it breaks.

Just trying to be frugal and efficient - sick of my garage having piles of bloody bike kit in it..!
