Advice needed, please!
I've seen a Commencal Meta frame for sale at a reasonable price with a 'hairline crack around the lower shock mount'.
Would I be completely nuts to even consider buying this? Is it likely to get worse, and if so, would a Commencal warranty cover me if it failed as a second-hand buyer?

Thanks for all input!

yes you would be nuts. If the seller is the original owner, they should get a warranty replacement job done on it...

How cheap is it?

If it was properly cheap I would get it welded and maybe reinforced locally. At work actually. And then resprayed.

Basic contract law for you, your contract is with the seller, If it breaks you go back to the person you bought off. Secondhand is slightly different, but use your head on this, if a seller says it is broken and you go back to them saying it is broken why should they do anything to help you? Commencal have a contract with the shop that sold it and the rider a contract with the shop they bought from. If the original owner can get a warranty replacement from Commencal and are happy to sell that to you, then yes go ahead, otherwise walk away. Cracks don't get better.

Alright, alright - fair point. Even as I wrote it, it sounded daft.
Will avoid...

Thanks for backing up the tiny sensible voice at the back of my head - it needed help.
