What's a good way to get up to Leigh Woods from Flax Bourton - avoiding road as much as possible, especially Belmont Hill....

Can you get into the bottom end of Ashton Hill Plantation from the cycle track through Long Ashton, or is there an acceptable (to the NT) way up through Tyntesfield?

Yes.

From flax burton, left off the main road down toward the bridge over the railway, just before the bridge right into the cycle path. Follow the cycle path along, out the estate up and over he roundabout heading toward long Ashton. But take the first left after the roundabout, then first left again. Climb up the hill past the farms, then when you get into the trees take first fire road turn on the right, then left up the hill. Climb that and you'll pop out by the Belmont hill carpark at the top. Spin along the road then choice of more road or through wraxall piece to cut some out.

That make sense?
