What's the best natural ride to do these days? Remember doing the Gap years ago which was nice... but can imagine it feeling a bit tame these days. Is there anything a bit more tasty in the area? Going there this weekend and thinking of putting the bike in the boot.

Tame? I guess it depends on your normal gnar level 🤣 but I certainly wouldn't call the descents tame. Still massive opportunity for life changing injury 😁

Sudden dawning realisation that a member did indeed hurt himself badly on the gap , my apologies for the above flippant comment

Views on the Gap route aren't bad ๐Ÿ™‚ That's from today.

There was a fella on a Ti Smokestone who we met who had loads of route suggestions. Should have asked him his name really! I think of The Gap as a ride with great views, long steady climbs and a descents that may not be 'super-gnar' but are consequential with speed for sure.

The lightning fast descent to the bottom gate was the site of a terrible accident that has had quite a few ramifications over time.
Russ Pinder vs Fox

There is LOADS of traditional XC riding around Ystradfellte. Use Sarn Helen (old Roman Road) as a basis.
